Wow. To anyone who has visited this site in the past few, hell, probably years, this comes as a major shock.

I’ve picked up the Wacom again! Cower in dread, mortals!

… Currently trying so hard not to fuck up the colours in photoshop, and failing. So. New illustration to follow soon! I mean, just as soon as I can manage to finish it without burning it in hatred! Rejoice!

NaNoWriMo 09 and various other things

I’m happy to report that I managed to finish NaNo on time; it was my first year actually trying, and I’m pretty pleased with what I accomplished. I’ve left my NaNo story aside for now. It was written pretty quickly, and I think it needs to ripen a bit before I go back to it. Following my busy November, I’m going to jump right back in the game; both of my fanfics have been sitting forlorn on my hard drive, and I just posted what I have so far of Chapter 1 of Eagle and the Wren.

It was written pretty quickly, and it turned out surprisingly longer than I expected; I guess my NaNo blitz made me even wordier than I usually am, although I’m really not certain that’s a good thing. Feel free to comment on the new chapter.

As for On Silver Wings, it’s still officially on hiatus; I’ve been playing the shit out of Assassin’s Creed 2 (Mrr, hello, Ezio…) so I find myself itching and twitching to revisit some of my old favorites, mainly Damascus and Masyaf. The AC franchise is just so rich and gritty and violently lovely, it’s hard to tear myself away.

But I promise I’ll get back to On Silver Wings soon. :)

NaNoWriMo ’09

Well, I jumped.

I’ve been thinking of trying NaNo for years and years, but have only just gotten enough courage to actually sign up. On Silver Wings has been extremely good practice for me, and although I’ve been busy as hell and updates are getting scarce, I adore it to death; it’s taught me a lot about character development, pacing, dialogue and other such things which are pretty important when you plop your bum down to write what is basically 50k words on one topic.

So, head on over to the NaNoWriMo website and visit me!

To everyone who registered on the blog for On Silver Wings, feel free to post comments and criticism on any and all chapters. The -draft chapters especially, since they are chapters which haven’t yet been screened by my extremely patient and talented beta-readers.

If you have ideas, please share them; if you spot errors or weak bits, feel free to point them out in a most violent and direct way.

On Silver Wings Update

Am currently waiting for my betas to finish going through chapter 5 before officially declaring it posted, here and on FF.net. I find it a little hard to really concentrate on the next one when I know that I’ll have to go back and edit through an older chapter. Bleh.

I’m thinking of posting Snippets here. I have a few ideas which don’t quite fit into the main storyline, and I have a feeling some of these might trigger the ever present FF.net Ratings Bitch Police. I sense a new Category! *spidey-sense tingling*

Oh my. I’m on a roll, it seems. I stay away from this for a few weeks, then WHAM, I can’t stop typing.

I’ve got a detailed plan and scene-by-scene synopsis written for the next four chapters, so I should now be a little faster on the updates.
